Getting to the Allianz Arena
Tips and info on getting to Munich-Fröttmaning

You can get to the Allianz Arena in Munich-Fröttmaning by various means of transport- from the bike right up to the underground. Cars, coaches or motorbikes access to this new temple of football is via the motorway system. Below are details on how to get to the Arena. We recommend you get to the stadium in good time.
Public transport:
The police advise all fans to use the Munich public transport system to ensure getting to the stadium in safety and on time. If you are travelling by train from Munich's main station or from Munich East catch the S-Bahn to Marienplatz and then change to underground line U6 (in the Garching-Hochbrück direction).

Travel to Fröttmaning on the underground. Travel time from Marienplatz is approximately 16 minutes. You then have a short walk via the Esplanade to the stadium. We recommend you use the Park and Ride(P+R) facilities and use public transport for a stress-free journey.

During the World Cup on the appropriate match day your World Cup match ticket also acts as an ticket for public traffic (MVV).


By car, motorbike or coach
If travelling by coach or car please follow the displayed routes to the car parks, both in the built-up areas and on the motorways. Please use all available lanes when approaching the stadium

  • From the west (A8 Stuttgart – Munich) At the Munich-Eschenried intersection follow the A99 to the Munich-Fröttmaning-North junction (AS 12b).

  • From the north (A9 Nuremberg – Munich), At the Neufahrn intersection follow the advised route via the A9 to the Munich-Fröttmaning-South junction (AS 73) or via the A92 to the Munich-Feldmoching intersection. Continue on the A99 towards Salzburg to the Munich-Fröttmaning-North junction (AS 12b). To avoid congestion at the Munich-Fröttmaning-South junction follow the advised route to the stadium from the Neufahrn intersection.


  • From the south and east (A99). At the Munich - North intersection follow the A9 towards Munich to the Munich-Fröttmaning-South junction (AS 73).

  • From Munich City Centre. Follow the A9 Munich – Nuremberg to the Munich-Fröttmaning-South junction (AS 73) or follow Ingolstädter Straße to the Munich – Neuherberg junction on the A99 and continue to the Munich-Fröttmaning-North junction (AS 12b).

Getting to the Allianz Arena München GmbH office
The Allianz Arena office is open on matchdays. Travel information.

  • From Nuremberg or Munich city centre (A9) use the Fröttmaning junction. From Werner-Heisenberg-Allee follow the “Sonderausweis EO/S1” signs leading to the east entrance.

  • From the A99 Stuttgart motorway towards Salzburg: The motorway exit brings you straight onto Werner-Heisenberg-Allee (north side). Go past the coach parks and follow the“Sonderausweis EO/S1” signs. The entrance is on the right hand side.


Coach parking
The stadium has three coach parks. Access to the two north coach parks, Mitte and Nord, is via the A99 junction Munich-Fröttmaning-North. Access to the south coach park is via the A9 junction Munich-Fröttmaning-South.

Bayern Munich supporters coaches should use the south coach park. TSV 1860 Munich coaches should use the Mitte coach park.

Getting to the Allianz Arena by bike
The Allianz Arena is easily accessible by bike via a recommended route. The route from Marienplatz in Munich city centre to the Allianz Arena in Fröttmaning is mostly flat and 10.7 kilometres long.

At the start of the 2005/2006 Bundesliga season the highways committee erected signage along the illuminated night route. The signs conform to the familiar Munich cycle network "Radlnetz" and feature a football symbol and the "Arena" concept as well as showing the journey distance in kilometres.
